Prophecy - An Introduction

Prophecy:

Marion-Webster Definition -

1: an inspired utterance of a prophet

2: the function or vocation of a prophet; specifically: the inspired declaration of divine will and purpose

3: a prediction of something to come

The bible says:

Despise not prophesyings. (1 Thessalonians 5:20)

... he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification,

and exhortation, and comfort. (1 Corinthians 14:3)

On this website it is our soul purpose to edify (build, establish, instruct), exhort (urge) and comfort the body of Christ. It is not to exalt any individual's office or giftings, nor to publish the greater content of prophecy given to the Gateway To Freedom's Assembly.

It is the author's belief that since the beginning of the prophetic movement a great deal of prophetic utterances have been so tainted by the vessels through which they have been given, that the body of Christ barely listens anymore. Instead of seeing prophecy as the Word that guides and gives life, many look at it to be only a comfort to sooth or inflate personal ego. When it doesn't do either, and conflicts with the perception of ourselves, current situations, or what we want to be "free" to do, it is rejected.

Prophecy, and its near term fulfillment, should be viewed as not only a "present" Word, but as a possible shadow to future events that may develop slowly rather than be instantaneously perceived or completed.

In view of these facts, we have determined to share only a few of the prophecy's given so as limit the "noise" and ear tickling. If you have a word or feedback you'd like to share please do it through the "contact us" email link given.
